The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) is hosting Alaska Day 2023 on March 1-2 in Washington, D.C. The topic of the event will be “Challenges at the Northernmost Border: A Focus on Getting the Right Priorities Resourced - Critical Infrastructure, Communications, Technology, Climate Change, and Energy. Meeting goals include:
Supporting and enhancing the President’s National Strategy for the Arctic,
Raising the urgency of prioritizing and resourcing critical infrastructure, resilience, and preparedness, economic, energy and food security,
Seeking support to prioritize addressing critical needs including dual use infrastructure,
Facilitating bringing together the Native peoples of Alaska, with federal, state, the military, and private sector to innovate and help.
