The Arctic, according to the Wilson Center Polar Institute, has transformed into an interconnected, consequential, and globalized region. The Polar Institute defines seven key issues and drivers impacting the region we live in (the “7 Cs”): climate, commodities, commerce, connectivity, communities, cooperation, and competition. Academic institutions, commercial companies, industry associations, and institutes including the Wilson Center are driving a number of initiatives to benefit the region, including the state of Alaska, to address the “7 Cs”. You can become actively involved.
